HOLDREGE, Neb. — Designed for applications requiring high illumination levels with minimum glare and reduced shadows, Allmand’s new Port-A-Lite™ Balloon-Lite is available with multiple options to suit many lighting requirements.

Three Balloon-Lite models are available. The BL 2000 TH uses an “instant-on” 2,000-watt tungsten halogen bulb and produces 33,000 lumens of illumination. For additional light output, the BL 1000 MH and BL 2000 MH each feature energy efficient metal halide lamps. The BL 1000 MH utilizes one 1,000-watt metal halide lamp to produce 110,000 lumens, while the BL 2000 MH has two 1,000-watt lamps that combine for an output of 220,000 lumens.

The Balloon-Lite is available with either half translucence or full translucence balloon styles, both greatly reducing glare to improve worker safety. Half translucence models include a special aluminum coating on the balloon that helps prevent light pollution above the horizon line. An umbrella-like steel spring system keeps the balloon open at all times without the need for air or gas pressure.

Tripods for the Balloon-Lite are offered in heights of 11, 15.4, 18 and 27 feet to accommodate a wide variety of lighting jobs, including highway and general construction sites, emergency response situations, special events and advertising visibility. A 14.7-foot auto hitch mount is also available. 

The Balloon-Lite can be operated by a small generator or from a 120-volt power source. The unit is lightweight and comes with a storage case for easy one-person portability. Set-up is quick and simple with minimal training required for use. The Balloon-Lite’s durable tripod and ballast assembly is designed for long service life and easy maintenance.
