Southern Environmental Landscaping Contractors, Phenix City, Alabama
Southern Environmental Landscaping Contractors overcame many challenges, including persistent rain, to achieve the property owner’s vision for this backyard retreat. After excavating the hillside and removing about 2,250 tons of soil from the property, the landscapers installed more than 2,500 square feet of Pavestone’s retaining wall blocks in a three-piece pattern. They created two, 6-feet-high tiered walls, providing a multilevel effect and more usable space. A staircase ascending through the lower wall leads to a flowing water feature and upper patio. The crew also used pavers and concrete to create a new driveway and walkway, back patio, freestanding wall and columns to screen the air condition unit, rock-covered fireplace and grill island.
